Etheline May Gonsalves "DeeDee", 89, slipped away peacefully to be with her departed loved ones on March 27th 2023. Born March 29th, 1933 in North Providence Rhode Island to Joseph and Laura (Matthews) DiPina she was one of five children. She is predeceased by her three brothers, Joseph (Pete) Peter DiPina and his wife Linda, Larzo (Larz) DiPina and his wife Betty and George (Dawdie) DiPina and his wife Marie. She is survived by her youngest brother James (Shank) DiPina and his wife Geraldine. If there was ever one thing constant in DeeDee's life, it was her love and dedication to her family. She leaves behind her beloved husband Jose Gonsalves Sr. to whom she was happily married to for 54 years and her two sons, Jose Gonsalves Jr. and his wife Maria Dossantos-Gonsalves and her son Bruce Timothy Gonsalves along with three grandchildren, Kimani D Baptista, Bailey Thaedra Gonsalves and Madyson Jordin Gonsalves as well as many nieces and nephews who were all well loved.

DeeDee had many passions in life. Besides her love of family and large holiday gatherings and events, as a youngster she loved drawing sketches, quilting and crafting. She was a talented seamstress and created clothing for herself, her husband and her boys in her younger years. She volunteered her time to her children's school activities and sports and was sure to introduce her sons to the arts in the various forms. She was an avid gardener her entire life and enjoyed crosswords and puzzle books in her advanced years. She will be dearly missed by everyone who was fortunate to meet her. We will forever love you.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 3rd from 5pm-8pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln. Her funeral will start Tuesday, April 4th directly at St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Rd. North Kingston, RI 02852 at 10am. Burial will follow in Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter RI.
